Abiotic Observations: Weather station at site: Sunny 82 degrees F, SSE wind 9 mph, Entire nest/tree moving with the wind. Nest is shaded.
2:45 Two chicks in the nest, adults not present. Both have dark plumage some contour feathers and flight feather, both still have down.
Younger chick has more down and is sitting with feet outstretched in front. Feet are yellow with black talons and look very big! Older chick is lying with legs tucked under. Both birds panting
2:46 Younger chick resposition itself still has feet outstretched. Older chick lying as before.
2:50 Both chicks now lying with feet tucked under, panting
2:53 Both chicks have eyes closed appear asleep
2:55 Younger chick has eyes open looking around, Older chick eyes closed
3:00 No change from previous. Watch ended.
